Aren't these guys tough?! And hey, if we haven't gotten you out on the boat with us yet, don't dispair- there's still pleny of summer left- just let us know you're interested and we'll make sure to get you out!

On the Lake

So boating has obviously become a favorite passtime. This time when we went out brea brought her action-catch lense (she has one for her work with a company who takes pics at all the local sports camps) and we got some fun pics. Josh and Sam love the boat, and are obviously such good buddies.

Getting a "Fam Fix"

All in all, it was a GREAT vacation! Thank you so much for everyone being so accomodating. We love you!

After a great weekend at Vashon, Jake headed home while I stayed a few more days to visit with family. Here are a few pics of Josh at the trainyard near my mom's house- "Choo, choo!"

But we also had fun on the rope swing, playing tennis, exploring the property, snuggling by a fire, riding the ferry (it was Jake's first time on one), and visiting Seattle .

Hunting and Gathering

I think Jake's favorite part was going clam digging and eating the fruits of his valient hunting and gathering. (One of the rules of these getaways is that we have to eat fabulous and beatiful meals).

Vashon Island

Last year Jake and I decided to start a tradition: each year between Mother's Day and Father's Day we would get away just the two of us (where possible- this year Dekker came along too) and that would be our gift to one another. This year thanks to a lot of help and coordination of family (airport pick-ups, a barrowed car, accomodations at the family island home, child care for Josh, etc) we flew to WA and stayed at Vahon Island. This is a place that was always very magical to me growing up, so I was so happy that Jake loved it just as much as I did!
