Pat's Baptism

By far though, the highlight of the trip was Pat's baptism. Jake's stepfather has met with missionaries and attended church for years now. About a month before the reunino he announced he felt that this would be the "right thing at the right time". We got the permissions necessary, found a secluded inlet off the lake, and were all able to witness a beautiful baptism that certainly brought to mind Christ's own baptism and example.

The Race

Every year there is a race of somesort that seems to be the biggest of the competitions- this year it was a MODIFIED pinewood derby race. Everyone was really creative- and it was lots of fun!

Polynesian Theme

The theme for the reunion this year was Polynesian Fun. The kids definetly got into it. We also made Hawaiian Haystacks for dinner and grilled pineapple for dessert as a tribute to the theme.

Where we stayed

This is the cabin we rented. The deck had beautiful views of the lack just a few blocks down.

Lake Tahoe

So here's a start at documenting our Tahoe trip. We had such a fun time- and it is so incredibly beautiful! The water is incredibly crytal clear with 80 feet visibility! No sign of the reported fires on our end of the lake- the lake is 12 miles wide and 22 miles long - we stayed on the west shore and as far as the eye could see the lake was surrounded by beautiful pines.

Nana on the wakeboard!

Dot is such a sport! She went on the boat just to watch "the kids"- but without much effort we soon convinced her to get out and give it a try. The whole time she was getting the wetsuit and board on she was saying, "I told myself I wouldn't try this again- I've tried it before and couldn't get up!" But at the same time you could tell she was self-compelled to do it. We were so proud when she got up after just a few tries!

Boating Boy

Josh loves the boat. In fact, he calls it "Josh's boat" and any time we drive by water he says, "Look Mama- water! Need boat!"

Bocce Ball Tournement

So at these reunions we have several competitions we can accumulate points at and compete for the monkey head carving that is then signed and hung in your home (if you win it). This year we added the bocce ball as part of the competitions.
