By far though, the highlight of the trip was Pat's baptism. Jake's stepfather has met with missionaries and attended church for years now. About a month before the reunino he announced he felt that this would be the "right thing at the right time". We got the permissions necessary, found a secluded inlet off the lake, and were all able to witness a beautiful baptism that certainly brought to mind Christ's own baptism and example.

So here's a start at documenting our Tahoe trip. We had such a fun time- and it is so incredibly beautiful! The water is incredibly crytal clear with 80 feet visibility! No sign of the reported fires on our end of the lake- the lake is 12 miles wide and 22 miles long - we stayed on the west shore and as far as the eye could see the lake was surrounded by beautiful pines.
Dot is such a sport! She went on the boat just to watch "the kids"- but without much effort we soon convinced her to get out and give it a try. The whole time she was getting the wetsuit and board on she was saying, "I told myself I wouldn't try this again- I've tried it before and couldn't get up!" But at the same time you could tell she was self-compelled to do it. We were so proud when she got up after just a few tries!
So at these reunions we have several competitions we can accumulate points at and compete for the monkey head carving that is then signed and hung in your home (if you win it). This year we added the bocce ball as part of the competitions.
