Ah! Memorial Day and Boating!

Yesterday was very much my ideal day: got chores done in the morning, went boating with friends in the afternoon, and had a BBQ with friends in the evening- yeah I'd say that's pretty perfect. The really nice thing is that because the weather forcast was a little "iffy" there weren't too many boats out on the lake- but the water/weather really were fine! After some knee-boarding and wakeboarding we took a break and let the boys TRY to catch some fish.

Movie and Popcorn

For our FHE activity and treat Josh suggested a movie and popcorns. He chose Pixar Shorts- and I thought it was a fabulous idea after a day of running around in the heat!

Kiddie pool and popsicles

It was HOT today- so we pulled out the old summer standbys. Dekker loved the popsicles (thus the red smudge on his cheek), but wasn't so sure about the sprinklers at first- but then decided they were fun!

Kinda proud of myself....

Usually when Jake is out of town my friend Becca comes over to keep me company. A lot of the time we watch a chick flick, get or make food that Jake doesn't like and that sort of thing. The last two times though we decided to improve our domestic skills by dusting off our sewing machines and making a purse. Friday we stayed up till about 2am finishing them (we couldn't really start till after Dekker went to bed). I think they turned out cute and I'm thinking I need to start another sewing project to continue improving my SKILLS!

Father and Son Campout

This is the boys when they got back from their first Father and Son Campout. Yes that is drool on Josh's shirt. He was worn out after all the fun at the campout. They both had a blast. I forgot to send the camera with them though :( We're hoping next year Dekker can go (Jake has a no sons in diapers rule).

Happy Mother's Day!

Jake was the biggest sweetheart the WHOLE day! He made me eggs, bacon, and hashbrowns with juice for breakfast. After church we packed a pic-nic and went up the canyon for a little hike so the boys could search for wildflowers to make me a boquet. When we got home I was allowed to take a nap while Jake worried about dinner plans. Jake made his famous shrimp scampie and twice baked potatoes. Becca brought a YUMMY salad and drinks, and Garrett and Kari brought dessert. Thank you SO MUCH for making it a special day!

I also want to express my appreciation for all the mothers and women in my life. I have been surrounded by amazing women with incredible talents and love, and I cannot imagine life without women who are aware of their divinity and strive to live up to it!

What have we been up to lately?

Lots of supporting Jake at softball games and tournaments. Josh and Dekker love going to the games- mostly because they get to play at the parks, and snack on treats. Jake has also been really busy as Young Men's President with lots of activities, campouts, firesides and service projects. He loves his calling...and softball!
