Since Naomi gets called "Nomi" and "Noms" so much, I figured a Gnome costume would be pretty perfect- especially since she likes wearing dresses, hats and boots anyway. She also loved that I put some make up on her (one of her favorite past times is sneaking into my bathroom and getting into my make up). We sure love this little girl- even though she keeps us on our toes!

For FHE on Monday we did our carving pumpkins activity. (Naomi picks out all her outfits these days). And we got invited to an adult only Halloween party in the neighborhood- where costumes were mandatory. We tried to pull off Mary Poppins and Burt, the chimney sweep! The boys are very excited to wear the costumes, and I think I've put a cute one together for Naomi, so those will be coming soon!

Here's a quick shot that I had Jake take this morning before leaving for the ultra sound.
We were all hoping for a girl, except for Dekker. My guess was a boy though. I hadn't felt very sick with this one, I haven't gained as much weight as I did with Naomi, especially through the hips. Plus, with Naomi, sweets actually made me feel more sick- with this one that wasn't a problem. And, well, I guess just Mother's intuition. So I wasn't too surprised. It really wasn't what Jake was expecting though. He thought for sure he was getting another girl. He says he's still happy- and that it just makes him love Naomi all the more. Of course, the best news of all was that the baby looks healthy! My placenta is a little low, but anterior, and so expected to move up. They'll do a follow up ultra sound at 29 weeks just to make sure.
I can't believe I'm half way already!

The boys were in HEAVEN. Jake got in some good fly fishing, and the boys found the magic lour that brought them some great fish as well. (We let them all go) Josh became addicted. He cast, caught, and brought one in all by himself. I thin Jake said their total was at 15!
This summer we never really got in a trip that was just our family. The kids had Thursday and Friday off this week (UEA break), and we knew we wanted to use it to get in a family trip. With our recent move we didn't really have the funds to go far or "go big". I miraculously found the perfect little cabin on its own fishing pond not too far away. We left at noon on Thursday, and stayed two nights. It was perfect! We loved it so much that we decided it will be our anual tradition.
We had fun roasting marshmallows around the fire, cooking in the dutch oven, taking out the kayaks, exploring, and of course, FISHING!
