A Chuck E Cheese Party

Dekker was very excited to go to Chuck E Cheese for his party! And it was just as fun as he'd hoped. We took his friend Trevor, and several of his friends from the old neighborhood, and Riley (Becca's nephew) joined us there. He requested a Batman cake- and so I sent Jake to get the cake and a Batman toy to go on top. Jake got not just a Batman- but a Batman CAR too. Dekker loved it! He loved being the star of the "Birthday Show" and meeting Chuck E Cheese. Jake and I loved watching him in the ticket blaster, and his excitement while opening presents. We had so much fun celebrating Dekker's 5th Birthday!

Dekker's Day

Dekker's Birthday started out with a pancake in the shape of the #5, then we took him to preschool where he got to hand out his oreo-pops that we made, when I picked him up I took him to McDonald's for lunch and let him play as long as he wanted. Then we went home and he played the XBox dance game until Josh got home and it was time to pick up his friend Trevor and go to Chuck E Cheese.

What did we do for Christmas this year?

We hosted the Runyans, McQuiggs, Nana, at our house. Brea and Tom spent as much time as possible with us all as well. It really was SO MUCH FUN! Everyone pitched in and took turns with cleaning and cooking and with 8 little cousins running around, how could you NOT get in to the Christmas Spirit? Our three little girl "angels" (see the nativity video below!) were adored by all. Tio and Brynn had to come by and say hello as well!

LOTS of activities!

With a whole week together- we had lots of fun. There was down time of course, but lots of fun activities to keep us busy as well. Not pictured? The guys took kids swimming while the girls hit the Park City Outlets, a couple rounds of golf thanks to the golf simulator room, Christmas movies, and card/board games of course- oh and let us not forget all the yummy food!

The kids were well entertained too. Nana made a Rudolf production with them, there was sugar cookie making, Nativity story/sticker night, cousin gift exchange, a Rudolf ornament project, and more!

Not a lot of snow...

We were sad that we didn't get a lot of snow this year. We had planned an adult snowboarding day and a kids snow/sledding day. We made due by taking the older kids to the Soldier Hollow tubing hill, checking out Ice Sculptures at Zermott/Homestead, bundling up for walks to the park, and enjoying the one morning of one inch of fresh snow.

I love this shot of McKyla and Dekker- those two were pretty much INSEPARABLE the entire time!

Making Ginger Bread Houses

Temple Square Night

One night we all had dinner at Brea and Tom's cute new house in Centerville (the kids liked being launched into their giant love sack) and then went to see the lights at Temple Square.

Dance Central 2

Jake got his Christmas present early: an XBox with Kinnect. The guys would stay up late some nights playing a shoot 'em up game . But Dance Central 2 was a hit with everyone!

Adult White Elephant Exchange

There were some pretty funny emails leading up to the big gathering- and many of the white Elephant gifts were inspired by those.

A nice group shot?

Near to impossible with this group!
